Old Buick Ads

I'm sure many of us collect them. I took photos of a couple of these for the "Girls on Buicks" thread in the General section. I thought it might be interesting to start a thread here on advertising material.

Here are a few 1929 Buick ads. The first two come from the Ladies Home Journal, from September and October 1928.

Now, from the March 1929 The Country Gentleman.

Finally, one from The Sportsman...I don't know which issue.

The last one was on probably the glossiest paper, so I don't know how it will view overall...my apologies.

It would be really neat to see some of the even older ads. Perhaps we could see an evolution of advertising. The above demonstrate that the male vs. female demographic was definitely catered to.

OK, you have a few more than I do, but I think I have at least one or two representing the year, if not the model, of cars I own. Of course, over the years, if I'd spent more money on the cars instead of the paper, I'd have more parts and / or cars in better shape...oh well.

There's always some of these at every swap meet...it's always neat when I can find one applicable.

A circa 1910 ad from Life magazine I found at the Dunkirk, NY swap

meet some years back. A neat ad because it shows an aerial view of

the Flint Michigan plant with all major areas of manufacturing

labeled as well as specific model assembly points..
