Need help on frame finishing

I'm getting ready to repaint my 51 Chevy truck and would like to no the best way to finish the frame for show. Should I paint then under coat like the factory, or just paint with no under coat. How about powder coating is this aloud on show trucks.

A tip on painting a frame. Paint it upside down on jack stands.

This way if you miss a spot underneath, it will not show

in the assembled car.
