Guest garydc Posted November 25, 2006 Posted November 25, 2006 I have a fairly nice presto tank I want to use to help finish a restoration. I don't intend to put anything in it so it is just for visual effect.I cant identify the thread of the fitting on the valve. Is there something special about gas cylinder fittings? I assume there is for safety reasons. Also I need to know what the fitting looked like between the valve and hose.ThanksGary
Layden B Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Pardon the shaky hand, trust these will show what you need. Mine is broken off but #9 in the parts book shows the tube complete. Yes the threads are peculiar, the idea as you stated is to have a system of piping completely separate for safety.
Guest Albert Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 undo the nut from the tank, the fitting on the tank is a standard act. fitting and you could drill out the piece of copper thats in the center, and silver solder a new line in it place.. maybe take it to a welding supply shop and they ould help you with fittings, the max tank pressure is 300psi, so i would think there should be a regulator after that part..
Guest garydc Posted November 29, 2006 Posted November 29, 2006 .Thanks to both of you. Layden, the pictures are very helpful and Albert, you have a good suggestion. My tank has a good valve and now I think I know what I need to finish.
