Guest F14CRAZY Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I happened to find a review of oil filters which interchange with our 3800s, and it isn't too old.
padgett Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I suspect that the FRAM provides a higher profit margin to stores than others so has more shelf space. I've been using SuperTechs for some time (since Delco began outsourcing) with no problem.Did use some Purolators and noticed a very slight oil pressure drop with the Pure 1. The standard Purolator is fine IMNSHO but costs more than the SuperTech. If synthetic oil is really synthetic, why is the price tracking fossil oils ?
Guest F14CRAZY Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 I wish I knew, Padgett. Does not make sense to me.
Roadster90 Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Out of the test is Super Teck about the best and where does one obtain the product please <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />?Thanks
jchudyk Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Super Tech is Wal Mart's store brand. Available at any Wal Mart store. I use them myself...decent filter.
Guest CL_Reatta Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Super Tech is made by Pennzoil mostly (can depend on your region), not the best of course, but still good stuff.
manikmekanik Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 I've been using the Supertech, from Wally-World for years. Prefer them to the Fram and AC products, at a lower price, with same characteristics. When you change your oil, (and all filters), every 2000 miles, economy is key, filter has no time to clog, oil stays clean.
