WCraigH Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 ...move along now.Oh, somebody is building a Bonneville car with a 352 Packard V-8 and they are using, among other things, the well known (to this forum) Melling oil pump conversion and Hilborn fuel injection. Nah, nothing happening in the Packard V-8 world. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

Jack_Vines Posted November 15, 2006 Posted November 15, 2006 FWIW, am in SoCal this week and picked up six NOS Packard V8 hot street and racing cams. Now, if anyone was building hot Packard V8s instead of just talking about it . . . . We have just rebuilt two stock 352"s and are running them on the engine test stand, just checking our OEM oil pump re-engineering project and the NOS Johnson lifters we bought. So far, everything is checking out fine. Prices for parts from Kanter, Egge and the rest are going up pretty rapidly. I just spent $16 apiece for oversize stem exhaust valves. Looks like we will have to ask about $3500 exchange for these two.We are getting ready to offer authentic 1956 Studebaker Golden Hawk Jet Streak kit engines. The factory put out a Jet Streak kit parts sheet and reportedly planned to offer it as a dealer-installed kit with the Caribbean 2-4bbls, a choice of various grinds Isky solid cams and lifters, adjustable pushrods and a dual point distributor. We will also build a couple on 374" engine cores. They won't be inexpensive, but they will be the real deal.thnx, jv.

Jack_Vines Posted November 16, 2006 Posted November 16, 2006 Ole Book rounded them up somewhere. He didn't seem to think they were too hard to find, just expensive.thnx, jv.
