1953 shop manuals - bolt torque listings?

I'm trying to finish everything up in order to get the Buick started. I keep running into little problems that constantly delay me. I can't find the proper torque listing for the bolts in the shop manual. I have the required 1952 and 1953 manual. Am I missing it or are they not in there?

Justin,

Go to the first page of each section. For example page 2-1 "Group 2 Engine". There you will see not only the torque specification but also the thread size used in case you need to replace missing hardware or clean up an old one.

Ok, I see the listings in the engine section now, but I'm looking for the fuel pump and thermostat housing and I don't see them. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Justin, if the torque value is not given, you revert to SAE Standard torque values for bolts by size and grade. Here is a site that has the chart. http://www.sizes.com/tools/bolts_SAEtork.htm

You may want to check in the Fuel and cooling sections. They aren't always where you think they should be.

Thanks for the help so far...but I've looked through the manual so many times and I still haven't found what I need. If anyone with a '53 manual could give me some specs I'd really appreciate it. I need the torque specs for:

'53 322 v8

2bbl Stromberg carb

Thermostat housing (where the upper radiator hose connects to)

Fuel pump
