He doesn't have much taste in cars for his own fleet, but he did good in picking cars for this display.

Steve Moskowitz Posted November 11, 2006 Posted November 11, 2006 Glad you liked the the "excellant" display! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" /> It is an interesting grouping of cars although there are some we missed. I especially wanted to get a dual chain drive Simplex there but it did not happen. The Riker is fascinating and the Limited naturally is real impressive. Doug, you have to go back and see the video (still working on it I think) or borrow mine from racing the Pirate! As far as the personal collection goes, you are right! I do need some "new" cars!

One thing I thought peculiar in the display was the electric cars. The newer electrics really don't travel any farther on a charge then the old ones. I will definately check out the movie clip.
Steve Moskowitz Posted November 12, 2006 Posted November 12, 2006 Doug, it is interesting to hear that they claimed to get up to 75 miles on a full charge. Consider the resistant from the bad roads, etc. Sure would be interesting to do a modern day test to see if they really did get that type of mileage. The Riker is so cool and the Argo with the solid rubber tires is real unusual as well.
