Guest pknighton Posted November 2, 2006 Posted November 2, 2006 Anyone looked over the 1906 Maxwell located on eBay with a bid of over $19000 and not reaching the minimum yet? It has diamond springs at each wheel rather than semi eliptic. I've never seen diamond springs before 1909 models. Any opinions. see: ebay item number: 200042839228 Body looks right. No answer to my inquiries on the serial number, but is shows on the top engine plate. Can't see the carb very well.
Maxwell West Posted November 3, 2006 Posted November 3, 2006 Phil- It is the Wampler car in the Maxwell Registry. Tom and I studied it on one of our expeditions into IN years ago. It is setting on a 1909 A Junior frame. No Maxwell carb. Early round flange jugs. I have an extra frame but the springs are pretty hard to find. Merle
