abelincoln
My 56 312 has a breather filter on the side of the block. I was loosing valve cover gaskets, so I replaced the filter, now the draft tube continually drips oil. I cleaned the drainback tube, but still get a puddle when the car stops. Did I do something wrong?Abe
junkyardjeff
I think they all dribble a bit but do you have the gasket in correctly. Jeff
Guest DickTrierweiler
Hi Abe, I have a 56 292 that does the same thing. I am thinking that I might have build a baffle in front of the vent at the block. I can't figure out why this is happening. Let me know if you find a solution. Thanks Dick
Guest DickTrierweiler
Hi Abe, I did weld in a baffle on my crankcase breather and it seems to help alot. There is still a little dipping, but it doesn't run out like it did before. I just had a piece of metal welded from the top of the hole and then following the drain tube down. This blocks the oil from entering the crankcase breather directly. I quite please with the results. I have the car in storage now but I did run the engine for 20 min and breather never dipped while it was running, but there were a few drips overnight. I hope that this helps you too.
