hood adjustment?

I have a 1935 4 door sedan. model 40. My hood doesn't fit properly, it overlaps onto the grille

shell as if too long. If I adjust the rods to the firewall, then my front doors start to drag.

Is it possible to move the rad/grille shell forward at the top? Any help appreciated.
