Mr Buick Posted October 15, 2006 Posted October 15, 2006 We are putting up for sale our 65 Skylark GS post "thin pillar" coupe. 1263 thin pillar automatic coupes produced in 65. Not many around. The car runs and drives as nice as it looks. The car is in beautiful condition. 73,000 miles. It has the Wildcat 445 (401 ci), ST300 automatic transmission that doesn't skip a beat! AM radio that works great. Power steering, non A/C, automatic with console. ORIGINAL INTERIOR! It has new dual Flowmaster exhaust, new plugs and wires and points. 6 year old paint, Regal Black over Arctic White body. This is not a vinyl top, it is a painted top. Front and rear bumpers were rechromed at the same time it was painted. The ventiports were rechromed last year. Runs perfect, 17 mpg! The floorboards are original and are rock solid. The car has a posi rear end. The car has newer tires, approx 7000 miles on them, newer brakes. Brake drums were repainted this past summer (cast iron color). Car has the the 4S code on the cowl tag for the GS option. It has the original silver headliner, splined steering shaft, and boxed frame that the GS came with. Nothing wrong with it, fly in and drive it home if you like. I have more photos on the way, I will download as soon as the moderator puts this on line. The car is located in Neillsville, Wisconsin and we are asking $18,500.00 OBO. The car is worth it. Needs nothing, scored 368 points out of 400 at this years National Meet in Rochester. Deductions were mainly due to non GM/Delco filters, belts and hoses as well as the tires and rims, etc. If you have any questions, call or email. I would like to sell before winter. Any reasonable offers? I would consider partial trade for good to excellent quality :TU: GS350, Skylark, Wildcat, Riv.....must have Buckets, floor shift and 2 doors. Thanks for your time.JohnThanks, JohnJSimonson@TDS.net715-743-2253

Mr Buick Posted October 26, 2006 Author Posted October 26, 2006 Not an email or thread reply???? Is it to expensive??
BrianStone Posted October 26, 2006 Posted October 26, 2006 It is just the wrong time of year to sell a collector car. The time to sell it is Feb. or Mar. when people are looking for something for the upcoming spring weather and they have gotten past their bills from Christmas/New Years and are starting to get tax returns.

I'd love to have it, but due to space constraints, need to win the lottery first to have a place to put another car.
Mr Buick Posted November 7, 2006 Author Posted November 7, 2006 Still for sale, would like to sell before the snow flies......won't be long now! <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/frown.gif" alt="" /> Yukie stuff!!Thanks, John
Mr Buick Posted November 17, 2006 Author Posted November 17, 2006 Unless something changes, It will go on ebay this weekend.John
Oxnard Montalvo Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Unless you're going to lose the house don't sell it short. It's a beautiful car and your price is more than fair. IMHO. Set a high reserve/buy it now.Good luck.

And should that be my asking price? Thanks for the help.John
Oxnard Montalvo Posted November 18, 2006 Posted November 18, 2006 Set the starting bid low ($500 or so) to help generate interest, set the reserve for the minimum amount you are willing to sell the car for, and set the Buy it Now price 10-20% above the reserve in case a buyer who really wants the car sees the listing.I feel the key to selling is pictures, pictures, and more pictures. The presentation is everything. If you don't get any acceptable bids wait until spring. It really is a sharp car in beautiful shape, the kind of car a discerning buyer will be looking for.Remember the old adage- "There's an butt for every seat." (the butt in your avatar can certainly sit anywhere she'd like.<img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />)Good luck.
Mr Buick Posted November 18, 2006 Author Posted November 18, 2006 Thanks for the advise,......I will use it!John
Mr Buick Posted November 19, 2006 Author Posted November 19, 2006 OK Gents......How does this look?http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=200049203189JohnP.S. Oxnard, Thanks for the help!
Mr Buick Posted November 20, 2006 Author Posted November 20, 2006 I have a guy emailing me and asking what my reserve is on ebay,...should I tell him? What do you think?John
Guest my3buicks Posted November 20, 2006 Posted November 20, 2006 No, if he wants the car then he can put in the max he is willing to pay for it, if it meets the reserve then he has a chance, and if it doesn't then he didn't want the car bad enough. You have a great looking car, a desireable car, let the buyers play the bidding game.
