TH-350 Tag Codes

I have a '71 Cutlass Supreme convertible with a TH-350 transmission. The ID tag is 71 LA 147 D.

From what I have been told:

71 = Year Model

LA = Series 32, 36, 4200 (except G90/G91) Release Group M38

147 = Date code. Is the date code a Julian date? That would make the build date May 27.

D = Day Shift

Correct assumptions (especially the date code) or not?
