Hi Guys,

I recently purchased a 1941 Buick fastback Special, series 40 with the duel carbs. I have been looking on the internet for some items I need. Before I get any further, Yes Matt, I have seen your dual carb registration web site, and I?ll be checking that out soon. My question to the all knowing is, does anyone know of any one parting out a 41 Buick. I need to get both of the front fender spears, and both rear fender spears, or emblems, not sure what they are called but I need them.

First thing if you have not already done it, become a member of ebay and everyday input "buick 1941" in the search box. I have had my '41 for about a year and a half now, and I did the search for about a year until I started buying things I might need and realized I had to stop. I remember a seller on ebay who operates a store somewhere in Florida and he has listed the rear spears numerous times at a very substantial price. But when one considers the absolute outta sight price to have something chromed these days, the price wasn't bad.

About the time you buy, say, one for the right side, in a week or so someone will list a pair which you cannot pass up. Now you have two rights and one left. What to do? Either hang onto it or become an ebay seller. Good Luck.

Rear spears are pretty easy to find in most any condition, albiet expensive. I have a set of 24s that I'm going to hang on to just in case I use the skirts, though I've been offered over $1400 for the set <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/shocked.gif" alt="" /> Finding the front spears is something else entirely--I've only found one in more than 4 years of looking. But I agree about the eBay thing--I buy NOS parts that I don't even need, just because I can't resist! But I do have some rare gems, too, that I can't wait to use (the aforementioned spears, the stainless mudguard trim for the skirts, a beautiful NOS clock, a windshield washer system, and stuff like that). It's addictive!

Good luck!
