Guest imported_V12Bill Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 What would cause the front windows of my Lincoln to go down very slow but the rear windows go down nice and quick? The rams are either new or rebuilt and I am using ATF for fluid. Bill
peecher Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 My sedan is just the opposite. the drivers window ( closes to the pump) is quicker up and down and then the windows get slower, in both directions, going from the front passenger to the rears which are about the same side to side. All the cylinders and hoses are new. I suspect that the size and length of the lines have the biggest effect as all the mechanisms are identical and have been cleaned and lubed well. I think the rear wndows on your convertible coupe have a different mechanism than the fronts and that may be what's causing the difference? How about more "friction" in the front guides etc. Just full of ideas Bill!
Guest imported_V12Bill Posted October 11, 2006 Posted October 11, 2006 Thanks for your thoughts Peecher, but my lines and hoses are new and the rams are either new or rebuilt also. I'm thinking of taking the pump off the car and tearing it down and checking for dirt or what ever that may be blocking passageways. Old car season will be over in a few weeks and I'll have the winter to play with that problem. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />
