1972 Oldsmobile Cutlass Speaker Size

Can anyone tell me what size the front speakers were in a 72 Cutlass Convertible?

They are skinny and long. 4 x 8? Been a long time since I replace the speaker in my Cutlass. They were available from GM then.

4x10, standard issue GM for that era. If you have one, it can be reconed. I'll have to ask my Pontiac bud where he gets his done- somewhere in Michigan I think. Guy beadblasts the frame and installs a new cone and voice coil, and the reconed speaker has that GM sound.

I bought a replacement of that size at Radio Shack way back when. Don't know if they would have one now, but it might be worth a shot. I had to hack on the mounting bracket to get it to fit.

Custom Auto Sound used to offer a dual speaker setup to fit in that spot, that might be a better option.
