Jay Wolf Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 The Judging manual states:?All AACA National Judges are required to participatein at least one CJE seminar uponreaching each Judges Award level, i.e., 10, 25,50, 75, 100, 125, etc. Judging credits. All AACAjudges are also welcome to participate in CJEseminars on a voluntary basis as they wish.?I currently have 12 credits (one was a CJE 2 years ago at Metropolis).Last year 2005 Hershey I reached 10 credits. From the Manual would take that to mean I am required to attend a CJE.Hershey was the only meet I attended this year and they don?t offer a CJE.So I couldn?t take one.My question is.What is Hershey is thee only meet I attend next year? How long of a time do I have to take a CJE? Does the one I took when I had 5 credits count as the CJE for 10
novaman Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 your situation is one reason there has been work taking place to hopefully one day be able to take some of these classes online. The program is still in infant stages, but being worked on. As for direct answers for yoyr questions, I don't have the answers. I do believe that your former CJE will not qualify for the mandatory CJE at 10 credits. The mandatory CJE is suppose to be taken within a year of your 10th credit. How much of a sitckler they will be on that, I'm not sure. If they did a CJE at Hershey, it would most likely have to be done on Friday due to time contraints on Saturday morning.
Jay Wolf Posted October 10, 2006 Author Posted October 10, 2006 I wouldn't have a problem if the CJE was Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday or Friday of Hershey week. I think online CJE's would be great.I remember the talk about online CJE's and I think some one even made a demo of one a year or so ago.
novaman Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 That was me. I've had some health issues that slowed things down for me this year. Had back problems were I couldn't sit long, general sickness where I'd come home and collapse for the evening. Now that I'm back from Hershey, I've got sinus problems again. When you can't hardly talk it makes it hard to record audio tracks. Plus I maintain 15 websites for AACA clubs, and am editor for another. I'm still waiting for creation of 72 hour days so I can get things done.
Rick Lay Posted October 12, 2006 Posted October 12, 2006 Jay, this very question came up two different times at the Hershey judging schools. We are going to try to have a CJE program at Hershey next year - perhaps Friday afternoon. I hope this helps. We had 44 folks at the Wednesday afternoon school, 46 for the Thursday afternoon school and 45 for the Friday night school. This was a good turnout compared with the two previous years.
novaman Posted October 13, 2006 Posted October 13, 2006 Rick, Glad to hear there was a good turnout.I like that fact that some of the school are over at the flea market area. The first year when it was only at the museum made it hard for anyone that was a vendor that stays on the grounds, to make it over and back.
