1973 Plymouth Duster clutch problem?

I just bought a 1973 Plymouth Duster and the clutch is incredibly stiff. This is my first car older than an 80, so I'm not sure if this is normal or signs of sometype of problem. Is there anything I can do about this or do I just get used to it. I've am also missing a piece of the chrome trim that goes around the windshield and was wondering if anyone knew where I could purchase it?
