Got back from Hershey yesterday. What a great time. A few changes this year - no big deal. I hear lots of complaining among vendors, show car owners, etc.. Any opinions out there? What do you think about the flea market prices? Car corral prices?

I thought the flea market prices high and the few items I tried to dicker on were met with a flat "NO". That was Wed, maybe the prices and attitude softened by Fri. The coral prices, I thought, were laughable. Probably Barret Jackson fever.

Personally I liked the grass show field. It could have used a better mowing thats all. I think it's a shame to pave over such a lovely spot. What's the line from the song "Pave paradise and put up a parking lot"?

The judges were courtious, as always. They gave the Olds a pretty good going over but I didn't see any putting of pens to clip boards so I guess I might get my 1st Junior.

My only critisisim would be the signage to trailer parking and the show field was inadequate. There was a big red "show field" sign right at the field entrance but nothing out on the highway where it was needed.

All in all A truly great show with a very big THANK YOU to all the great people that make it happen........Bob

When you look in the 2006 Hershey program (page 6) and see so many committees and names, it makes one realize how much work goes into this meet. Thanks to all those volunteers!

One thing that could be improved considerably, I felt, was pedestrian access. When we park across Hershey Park Drive from most of the activity, I thought there should have been more crossing points across Hershey Park Drive; and also across the multi-lane entrance road into the Giant Center that is crossed only by the pedestrian overpass. As it was laid out, one had to walk 1/4 to 1/2 a mile to cross Hershey Park Drive and then the same distance backward on the other side of Hershey Park Drive. For me, it was an inconvenience; for an older enthusiast (and there are many), it would be

extremely difficult or impossible. It's like being in a city and having to walk 5 blocks just to cross the street, then 5 blocks back on the other side.

A good indication to the Hershey planners is that, where lots of people jump over a fence, there is a need for a pedestrian entrance--just as water tends to flow the path of least resistance.

I realize that the township traffic control put some of these limitations in. Hershey Region needs to argue more vociferously to make things a little easier for their patrons.

But overall, the experience is fun and irreplaceable!
