Guest Joe_Varley Posted October 8, 2006 Posted October 8, 2006 That emblem came off a '74 to '77 Cutlass "S" that was sold new in the state of Virginia. The factory each of the 4 years built base model Cutlass "S" coupes with a select group of options, which was option code Y76. Each state had a different name for the package. I sold them in Cleveland and they were called a "GCSX" which meant Greater Cleveland Special Edition. Somebody along the way pulled the emblem off one of the "MOD" cars and stuck it on the '69 Cutlass. MOD meant "Merry Olds Dealers" in Virginia.Joe Varley AZOCA# 1448Southwest Zone Director
rocketraider Posted October 9, 2006 Posted October 9, 2006 That's a new one on me- must have been NoVA or Tidewater area sales zone, because the ones here in Southside and Southwest were "VGO" - Virginia Gentlemen of Olds, and a lot of Carolina Cutlass and Carolina Gold too since we're right on the state line. I learn something new on these Y76 cars once again...
