DeeBee Posted October 7, 2006 Posted October 7, 2006 Whenever we have the West Coast meet I'll be bringing a brand new in-Reatta mapping system as a donation for a raffle. Pics will be up real soon.Super easy to operate (if you know how to use your index finger or any other finger if you don't have one of those) and no drilling or modifications to your Reatta required.Already setup for any WiFi connection so as you breeze by that Starbucks or any other place with a connection, you can get news, check email yada yada yada. In fact, you can detach this and take it with you inside the house or hotel and it will work with the WiFi connection there too.As it is now, it is completely cordless, meaning no wiring required either. Take it out at night to recharge it, holds a charge for about 10-12 hours before needing juice. Wonderful little thing. I've been testing it on recent trips and it can be a real time saver. If I have time, I'll have all the Reatta Docs loaded onto it for easy on-the-road reference. Beats carrying around manuals and printed pages. It's nice and small and won't look stupid in the Reatta. Conservative design but very functional. It has some nice features like a note taker, voice recorder, MP3 Player, Video Player and all that built right in. Weighs about 2 pounds wet. Fits into the rear storage for putting it away from prying eyes. This is a turn key solution, brand new other than me setting it up and testing it.Naturally WHY? Simple, because I have lots of this stuff, I have three of these things and most of all, an incentive to those that show up whenever we set the date, time and location of the West Coast meet.I'll post more info on this as soon as I take some decent pics which should be cometime next week. Right now it sits low and out of the driver's line of view which works great so far. BUt I am also making an option that will let it be placed higher to the line of sight yet allow access to all the controls running up the center, including the CRT. Fits the 88-89's, can't guarantee fitment on the 90-91 although the lower location WILL work on all models.Sorry, I can't make up more than I have already, onto another project which is a voice over IP link between the Fiero and Reatta. Voice chat over the Verizon's national broadband between cars with no minutes charge. Yak all you want from anywhere to anywhere. Realtime GPS with voice instructions and a rear view camera. I know I know...sick.
