Texan Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 Is it worth while to buy a computer diagnostic machine to use on the Reattas? My local mekanik turns his nose up at the CRT. I have not harmed him yet but have definite thoughts of revenge. Paybacks are he**. Texa
Guest F14CRAZY Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 I don't think so, unless you like spending money. For most things, the CRT is just fine. Unless you're doing something like ECM tuning, like when Ryan needed to see knock retard, fuel integrator, block learn multiplier, spark advance, and some other stuff all the the same time...you don't need to invest in a scanner.
Texan Posted October 3, 2006 Author Posted October 3, 2006 Thanks, I do not know the difference between tuning the ECM and tuning the radio. I bought a repair manual, now if I can just learn to read. Texa
manikmekanik Posted October 3, 2006 Posted October 3, 2006 If you decide to get a diag tool, get the Tech-1, or tech-2 scantool. This unit will allow input/editing of your computer's tables, a great function when tuning in a supercharger, or to allow for E-85 fuel. You can also change the speed at which your TCC locks in.
