Ouch in the pocketbook for the Reatta today!!

Some time back I attempted to work on the window switches in Black Beauty and blew something. Horn and retained power function hasn't worked since. Very recently the climate control has been acting up so took it to the dealer today to have both checked out. Tab ended up $500 plus. Includes new window switch, actuator in climate control system, diagnosis, evac and recharge of AC and labor. Tech said system checked 'low refrigerant' but I've not gotten that warning from the puter. Seems I'd shorted out the insides of the switch when I worked on it. They pulled the switch out and cured that part of the problem. Parts had to be ordered and pre-paid and will be here for installation Friday. Will still have to pay the labor on that then. Another hundred plus. Decided on new switch instead of a used one from Jim Finn or Reattadudes in order to have the warranty on it. Guess I can't complain too much as both issues are age related. Just wished they had used the self diagnosis feature like I asked them to and would have probably avoided the AC evac and recharge cost. Even gave them the manual and showed them the sections revelant to both the condition and how to access the diagnostics.
