SES Light

OK, I'm a little pressed for time and thought maybe you had some ideas about what may really be nothing.

I've had my Reatta for about 4 years now, and have never seen the Service Engine Soon Light come on other than when I start it.

Today it came on, I went to the touch screen and shut it off. Drove a little bit and it didn't come on again. I'm getting ready to leave for Lansing, so thought I'd run diagnostics. It came up with E 013 and B552 as History, and showed no current codes. However the SES light flashed during the read out.

Do you think it's anything to be concerned about, or since it has never come on before can I reset it? How!

Leaving tomorrow bout 9, so any thoughts would be appreciated.

E013: "open oxygen sensor circuit [canister purge]" according to the manual. I think this means the oxygen sensor should be replaced, but I'm not completely certain.

B552 means the battery has recently gone dead or the system has otherwise been reset (disconnected cables does it). You can reset the codes in diagnostic mode, or disconnect a battery cable for a few seconds.

I'd guess the E013 would be what set off the SES light. I'm guessing OK to drive. I may try to reset in diagnostic mode. Again, it's history, I'd think if the Oxygen sensor were shot it would show as current. Should the SES light flash in diagnostic mode? First time I've gone there.

Thanks

Saw you answered while I was writing. Oxygen sensor is not a big thing then, I'd guess except for Uncle Sam, for the time being.

My bad, but yeah, the SES light should and will blink when in diagnostic mode

I'd R&R the O2 sensor connector (end of purple wire from top of O2 sensor) but probably need a new one (ACDelco AFS-20 p/n 25162693 ) Unscrews like a spark plug and I usually replace along with the plugs.

Had one that would stop working every time I got over 60 mph and MPG went into the toilet.

Padgett & F:

You guys are the greatest: O2 sensor was bad. It is replaced, codes cleared and I'm on my way to Lansing, only 3 hours late, but I'll still beat the traffic coming out of Chicago.

I'm an old Triumph guy, so never thought about replacing the sensor when doing routine maintenence. it also isn't listed in the maintenance manual.

You know we are all into the obvious stuff here, like accumulators and relays, but what other things like that should be replaced that I might not be thinking of?

Thanks again:
