Hi folks. I have a 1994 Skylark V6.

Here's the problem. When I turn on the AC or Defrost, water leaks into the passenger side. I'm told this is a clogged condenser hose or something along those lines.

I'd like someone to tell me specifically where to find it on my particular vehicle and how to unclog it. Thanks.

It is an evaporator box drain hose. Since you have a V6 it may be easier to see from under the car.

On the N body GM cars look towards the bottom of the firewall (middle of the car to the passenger side, there is a little L-shaped hose that points down. Get a coat hanger or stiff wire and push through the little hose. Some junk may come out, and then the water.

One time, when I was at a customer's service station, he had a similar Buick on the lift for an oil change. I found the little L-shaped drain hose and it was a small drip every now and then. I touched it, spreading out the (molded) crimped together area on the bottom of the "L". A little more water came out . . . another "touch" and the whole dang thing deposited about a quart of water and mold and such on the floor (as I watched in "horror" of what I had done). I was also surprised that the owner had not been complaining of a musty smell or worse!

Typically, any blockage will probably be near the end of the drain rather than farther inside. The "crimp" area is molded to stay pretty much shut to keep out outside air and such, but it'll act like a plastic/rubber coin purse when you squeeze the ends toward each other.

It should be an easy fix, once you find the hose . . . just be prepared to a deluge rather than a few drips.

Enjoy!
