Guest Tammy Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Hello fellow Reatta fans. I have dreamed of becoming a owner as well. And now I may have my chance. Can anybody tell me what I might have to pay for a 1991 convertible at auction? They can't tell me much, other than it is stored, looks nice and runs. My father knew this fellow (has passed on)and thought he took care of his toys. And since this summer I spent all my savings on finishing the basement, I will have to go to the bank. Could I be so lucky to own my dream?
Guest Tammy Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Oh this 1991 is advertised as a 1992 with 66,000 miles. I'm guessing they meant a 1991.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 yup, it would be '91.Mileage is everything. Many convertibles, including '91s, were stored and may have like a few hundred miles. For these, you can expect to pay $20k+ , according to the prices I've seen advertised (dunno if there's takers though at that price). Try a quick advanced search at Autotrader to feel the market for them. Now, if it has higher mileage, maybe around 100k, I'd shoot for the 10k range. '90 convertibles with higher miles tend to sell around $6-8k, but this is a '91 and only a few hundered were built.

Could I be so lucky to own my dream?

Better go to the mortgage broker! You may need a second mortgage to get this one!!$20k is in range for this car, but the bids may easily top $25k, or more, depending on the crowd at the auction. The CPI lists these models as increasing value by 4+% every 2 months for the last year.Best of luck to you!!
Guest Tammy Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 OUCH, I will be surprised if it goes that high in this farmer community. I never see any Reatta's around any more, so when this one was listed, it caught my eye. Yes being a stay at home mom with no pay, this is a dream. We own 3 GM's all with over 160,000 miles. And this would be a TOY for me. Really only a couple hundred made? This one is white on white.
Guest cudawabeno65 Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Hello Tammy,so where is this auction you are talking about?? would like to come bid against you!! LOL ,not reallly, have too many toys now.I do own a '91 red Reatta coupe with a sun roof, and if I would ever decide to sellwould give you first shot at it , if you don't get the convertible!! shoreice Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 You might be able to steal this one if this is your typical farm contry estate auction. Good thing you don't have your eye on the tractors! LOL. Kenny
Guest Tammy Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 NO NO NO...I'm NOT telling where! But I would love to have a "Super A" tractor. My favorite tractor growing up on the farm. Had to buy a little one for my youngest son to play with. Guess it is a wait and see as far as the auction goes. But then this AM my hubby says," instead of going after this car for who knows how much money, why don't you get a FLAT ELECTRIC SKILLET for pancakes" ...OK now stop laughing and go have a good day!!!!
shoreice Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Tammy, I hope you told hubby to get his own FLAT ELECTRIC SKILLET! I am partial to the old poppin Johnies myself. Kenny
Guest F14CRAZY Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Allis Chalmers
Guest Tammy Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 F14, no no no Tractor's must be RED!!! Just like the garage has to be full of GM's
Guest DTerry Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Allis Chalmers? "Popping Johnnies" were the old two cylinder John Deere tractors of my youth. Early youth!
Guest F14CRAZY Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 Intertrashional is pretty good too. Antique JD prices are obscene. And I don't care much for the putt-putt. Rather have something smooth with lots of power like a Power Crater.Or an IH Super MD
Guest CL_Reatta Posted September 10, 2006 Posted September 10, 2006 I say nothing beats my twin cylinder 15 hp, Cub Cadet !!!!!!!!
