bwoll Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 I'd appreciate any recommended shipping services to ship a convertable from Chicago to San Diego. Thanks much,Bryan
imported_Phil Knapp Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 Hi Bryan,I have used "Year Round Transportation" out of Spartanburg, South Carolina (1-800-784-7951)to ship three cars to me. One from Nebraska and two from New York State to Central Texas. Two were convertibles. They use enclosed transports and have done a very nice, careful job all three times. They're not cheap, but you don't ever get what you don't pay for.If you don't mind my asking, what kind of convertible did you end up with? were you able to find one of the elusive '40-'41 Zephyrs?Good Luck,
bwoll Posted September 8, 2006 Author Posted September 8, 2006 I'm still on the hunt for a nice and inexpensive `40-`41 zephyr. However, my current purchase was a bit newer, a `61 continental convertable. However, I do have the wife's permission to get the second car. I prefer the more understated look of the `40/`41 zephyr but am now considering a `46-`48 continental or coupe convertable. I'm thinking that I can get one in better shape for less money and keep it on the road easier as I assume parts are cheaper and easier to get? Thanks,Bryan
