Guest Kitskaboodle Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 I dropped my Reatta off at my friends house last night for him to work on. I told him the SES light is on all the time. (although the engine runs fine, except for an annoying hesitation off the line)Anyways, he ran it past his code scanner and got code 41. (Cam Sensor Failure)According to him, the GM p/n's are 24501417 (cam sensor) & 25530386 (cam sensor magnet)He also said he printed out Padgett's JB Weld procedure. My job will be to locate these two items for him. Where is the best place to get them...especially if I need them right away?? The dealer? If I order from GMPartdirect, I will have to wait a while. Thanks, Kit
Machiner 55 Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Advance Auto or Auto Zone usually has those two items in stock. Your local auto parts and or NAPA should have them. Guest Kitskaboodle Posted September 1, 2006 Posted September 1, 2006 Thanks for all the input, I will try and check it out today. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />Small update: I called the local Buick dealer and he said I had the wrong p/n for the cam sensor. It is 25530325 (not 24501417)So....this is what the Buick dealer wants:Cam sensor $51.98Cam sensor magnet $ 14.50Any more input or advice???? Kit / 90 Reatta Coupe
Guest F14CRAZY Posted September 2, 2006 Posted September 2, 2006 According to my experience, I'm willing to bet it's the magnet and not the sensor itself, but always good to try and take it back if it doesn't clear it up, since it's easier than the magnet.
