Bob442 Posted August 28, 2006 Posted August 28, 2006 Anyone have any reliable restoration contacts in the mid-west. Someone who is qualified to take a pile of parts and turn it into a beaut?
imported_Badger Guy Posted September 5, 2006 Posted September 5, 2006 What part of the Midwest are you looking for? What year 442? Badly rusted? Have most parts or need more? Frame off restoration? Tom
66400 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 Check with Kim at SixtiesClassics in RedBud Il. 618-282-6560 or classics@htc.net. He owns a restoration shop and he just completed recreating the # 43 66 442 W30 car. He built a car around the air cleaner. Ask him for pics detailing start to finish on this car. Henry
dawg32 Posted September 7, 2006 Posted September 7, 2006 When it comes to restorations you really need to clarify what your expectations are and how you define the word! Everyone has a definition and 9 times out of 10 they are different! Sometimes it's easier to start with the budget and see what can be accomplished for that amount! I do have contacts in Mi. that specialize in all sortsof custom car building, restorations, paint, body and mechanical!! Let me know ifI can help!dawg32
Guest Albert Posted September 9, 2006 Posted September 9, 2006 Restoration does have a wide meaning, depending on who you ask, from changing the spark plugs or to taking every last nut, bolt and screw out of the car and building a car out of the bits renewing every thing that is not up to the "Factory specs", Even a total body off frame restoration has a wide meaning, is the car going back to the way it left the factory, or better than new, ie no paint runs on the fire wall, no orange peal, not a single ripple in any panel.. What is a restoration??
