Shaggy Posted August 23, 2006 Posted August 23, 2006 Hello everyone. New guy here with his first old Buick.Lots of information here. I'm just starting to mine it. Great forum.I'm gonna be picking up a '38 Special 8 soon, but need to find some donor rims that'll fit it, as the tires are all shot. Rims appear to be OK though.Since the car is 200+ miles away, I'm hoping someone can tell me the bolt circle so I can go to a wrecking yard and pick up some rims and tires to take with me when I go to pick it up. Hard to get it on the trailer without something with air in em. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />Called Coker, and they were glad to tell me how to measure the bolt circle, but had no clue what it was or what would fit that year. It's 5 lug and 15" rims.Any advice would be appreciated. I'd like to go get this rig sooner than later and get it into a drier climate.Shag
Oxnard Montalvo Posted August 29, 2006 Posted August 29, 2006 The '38 Special uses 16" rims but you can fit 15" rims on it. I went out and measured a spare rim I have and the center to center measurement is 4 3/4", which is a very common GM bolt pattern. The holes measure 9/16" in diameter.
