We're getting all worked up here in the Motor City, this weekend is the Woodward Dream Cruise, somewhere between 30,000 to 40,000 antique and collector (a whole lotta muscle cars) will be on/along Woodward ave. between Ferndale and Pontiac. 1,700,000+ people will be on lawn chairs, on top of vans--you name it. It's the biggest car show you have ever seen in your life. The official day is Saturday, but it's pretty much all week now, Friday will be big, and Saturday is the big,big deal. Y'all come!

My wife did say she like me to build her one of them street rod type of cars. And no I would not butcher an original if I did build her one.

I am consistently the only Packard at any event I attend cruise-in or show. Of course that is rarely acknowledged by those officiating. And here in So. Cal. I expected more. There is a ratty 51 that has been around very occassionally. I saw a 55 4-door last year and that is it. Well there was that supercharged Packabaker that was the illigitamate offspring of the Golden Hawk and a Clipper at the one last night, but that's it. It is good to be unique in comparison to the flood of Fords and Chevrolets. 40/50s Dodges or Plymouths are pretty rare too.

The Lemont Lions (which I am a member of) are helping the Lemont Chamber and Lemont Legends Car club with their weekly cruise-in tonight. If I recall the last time I went to the cruise-in without my car there was a Hawk and a 40ish Packard there.
