Dole Thermostats

Does anyone know if the old "DOLE" thermostats are available, new or used ???? I want one (170) for a 1961 Olds. They were rather directional and if installed properly would direct the water straight up the water outlet.

A dealer tech bulletin came out in the early 70s about an engineering change from using the Dole type stat to the Robertshaw high-flow unit. It also recommended dealers no longer install the Dole type thermostat on earlier cars when they were brought in for service. I need a scanner so I can post some of this stuff for y'all.

If you can't find a Dole flapper stat, you can use a Robertshaw and technically still be factory correct. I see NOS ones sometimes at swap meets, but since they function properly only if they're oriented absolutely correctly to the stat housing, I've passed them by in favor of the Robertshaw.
