Brass Headlight Reflectors

I need to replace the thick glass reflectors in a pair of brass headlights. They are six inches in diameter. Am searching for a source or recommendation for a suitable replacement.

Ron, I think a want ad placed on the parts section of www.PreWarCar.com would get good results. Is the '04 Caddy getting them?

I believe what you are looking for are "Mangan" mirrors. We bought a pair about 10 years ago from Lancaster Glass in Lancaster, Ohio. Perfect replacement for the mirrors in the acetylene lights of an Autocar. At that time they were still used in stop lights and were available in several sizes. Might be worth a call if the company is still in business.

Restorer32 - Thanks for the tip and phone number. I just got off the line, but unfortunately the man that handles that department is gone for the day. They will call me back tomorrow morning, hopefully with the good news that they have two 6" Mangin mirrors in stock. Bob, these are for the 1911 Hudson.

Lets hope the focal length is correct for your lamps or that you do not intend to burn the lamps. Not all the gas headlamps had the same focal length mirrors. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/wink.gif" alt="" />
