DeeBee Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I recently took a trip from California to Idaho. About 900 miles each way, two days up, some time with family and two days back. The Reatta got a minimum of 30 mpg and on the way back though Oregon I got 32. Car ran wonderfully although I wanted a bit more power so that cruising over some grades wouldn't result in shift down. Wouldn't need too many more ponies, maybe 20 would do nicely. One quick run to triple digits was taken just because. Because I had brand new tires, new alignment, new fluids etc. Ran up there nice and smooth, rock steady and glued to the road. The Trip Monitor was very helpful. With my GPS PDA stuck down where the cassette sits, it made real time infomation very helpful and broke up some of the drone after passing Klamath Falls Or.I got lots of looks at the gas stations (I always fill up at half tank at least on long trips). Saw one other Reatta in Cour d'Alene (Red).BTW, here are the specs on my Reatta. Gray on Gray, immaculate inside and out, now 83k miles and have everything working aside from a constant on ABS light (brake check is good).
Guest F14CRAZY Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 I always thought those grey/gray cars looked nice. Good to hear you enjoyed a nice trip with it
DeeBee Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Headed to Yosemite, Napa Valley and SF Bay Area this week end and early next week. The Reatta is getting a nice workout. It is so much fun to drive. I've got a line on another Reatta I'm hoping to secure week after next. That will give me a trade off machine.
Roadster90 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Exceptionally nice looking gray coupe <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />If I did not have a gray coupe, I would be exceptionally jealous <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />Nic
Shelby Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Nice car but an extra inch or 2 of head room would be nice on a long trip for you tall guys.
ncgirl05 Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Wow - what great scenery in the pics! Where were you?
DeeBee Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 That was taken just south of Lake Shasta in Ca. That is Mount Shasta and I just had to stop.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 Great cars for eating up long distances, aren't they?
