Diners Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 My friend just bought a 1953 Packard. Not much is known about the carbut is in very good shape for it's age. The car did not come with atitle and has no markings as to the model. The VIN# 2652 9305 .Can anyone here tell me anything about this car a model, productionetc..Any help would be great. Thanks
Guest Randy Berger Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 That is a six-passenger 400 sedan. The engine number should be in the L600000 range which make it a nine-main bearing engine. Your friend bought a very fine automobile. It was top of the line in 1953. Welcome to the Packard forum. There are a lot of knowledgeable people here who can help with most problems.
Guest Albert Posted August 9, 2006 Posted August 9, 2006 that can be a nise car, Thats a 6 passanger 400 Sedan, the number you used is body tag or now would be the vin number to use, there is a cowel number above the heater box on the passanger side this has no meaning and the engine serial number will begin with L6 and is a 327 nine main bearing motor. Except for the trim and the motor its the same as the Patrician in 54
Diners Posted August 10, 2006 Author Posted August 10, 2006 Thank you for your help. I did an internet search for a 1953 Packard 400 and found a model called a "400 Patrician" would this be the model my friend has?
Guest Albert Posted August 10, 2006 Posted August 10, 2006 from the body tag yes, it also shold have a 4bbl car on it too.
