I HAVE JUST PURCHASED A 1989 TC MY TOP LOCK DOES NOT WORK, NO POWER TO SWITCH. AM WAITING FOR THE MAINTANCE MAUAL FROM MOPAR TO GET WIRING DIAG. DOES ANYONE KNOW HOW TO UNLOCK THE ELEC. LATCHES MANUALY, SO I CAN PUT THE TOP DOWN????

Yes, I have experience in this subject!

Open the trunk. Directly behind the Electric motor, there is a small hole in the carpet. I believe it is a 3/4 inch fitting. You turn this using a rachet. It both locks and unlock the tops. My '89 has been like this since I bought it, and have gotten used to doing it this way. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/confused.gif" alt="" />

Be very gentle when turning the bolt. You can use the lug wrench. Turned mine too hard and broke the spot weld. I have noticed when you depress the button for the top release you must hold it in to get the motor to respond. I have also found a lot less stress on the motor if you release the top from the windshield before you tighten the rear hold down pins Hope this helps Rofly
