jasonlachapelle Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 hey guys. I just removed my crt screen to clean the connections on the harness but my problem hasn't gone away. The problem is as follows: on start up, the car tells me it has "detected an electrical problem." When I press OK, it doesn't come back until the next time I start the car. When I go to the diagnostics screen, the four main options check out as OK, unless I go into detail, where EVERYTHING will be indicated as being wrong (engine temp, fluids, etc) even though I know for a fact they are ok.The only code I'm getting is E041, which I will be addressing shortly.any ideas?
Guest F14CRAZY Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 The "everything's wrong" thing is normal. I guess cuz Buick thought you should know what each warning would be, IF there was a warning.Take care of the E041 (are you using Padgett's fix?) and you should be fine.
Guest Ragtop Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 Bad news/good news. I had the same problem. Used the best contact cleaner I could find and it still read "electrical problem" That's the bad news, the good news is there is a gentleman who fixes the problem. Cannot remember his name but he advertises on Ebay, or used to. I haven't been on ebay lately. Maybe one of the other posters can help out with the details. Mine was a 90, but I know he also works on 88 and 89 panels.
Vincent Vega Posted July 25, 2006 Posted July 25, 2006 If you can read the 'OK' you do not have a problem. As f14 said, they just display what the messages would read in the event of a problem for you. It's confusing. The 41 is common.
