enonwosdog Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 I know that most of my questions really seem sophomoric to people who know what the heck they are doing, but: my Crt went out a couple of weeks ago. I mean like out, no flikkers, no fading, no nothing. I went to my handy dandy shop manual to see how to take it out so that I could send it to a repair person. The manual mentions a series of screws that are to be removed. Therin lies the problem. I really don't see any screws on my instrument panel. What am I missing? See, I told you that it was a dumb question (if you know the answer), but since I don't it isn't so dumb to me, and I really need to get the CRT out. HELP!
Rawja Posted July 14, 2006 Posted July 14, 2006 First you will need to pull off the trim piece at the speedometer. It is attached with clips top and bottom. slide your fingers between the speedo display and the trim piece (being careful that you are pulling on the plastic underlayment and not just the aluminum skin. Pop top loose and then the bottom. You will have exposed two screws that hold the left side of the CRT surround. Right side is held by clips, same as the speedo surround. Now you will have exposed the 4 screws that hold in the CRT.
