Carey_Turner Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 I am planning on buying and rebuilding/restoring the same kind of car I got my license in when I was 16. It was a 1986 Buick Skylark. I loved that car, and in a few years, my own children will be learning to drive. Obviously, I wont let them have the car, but I thought it would be nice if they got the same experience I got. Of all the cars I have driven, I think the little Skylark was one of the most comfortable. I am looking for anyone who might have some technical info available about the 1986 Buick Skylark. At this point I am looking for any info I can find. Thanks.
NTX5467 Posted June 17, 2006 Posted June 17, 2006 At that point in time, the year-to-year changes were somewhat minor. Usually with some new trim change or additional option package. Not much changed mechanically for several years, back then, other than emissions control issues. From what I saw, nicely durable vehicles, but possibly somewhat underappreciated. You might check the Buick Webring link at the bottom of the BCA website's front page. As I recall, there are also some Yahoo Groups! that are dedicated to the particular GM fwd platform which the '86 Skylark was built on. From those places, you might also find some links with tech information or forums relating to such per se.As another general source, you might check out "The Standard Catalog of Buick". It details each model year's various models, possibly more in specs and equipment than tech items, though.Welcome aboard!NTX5467
