I'd like to make a new Nomination, For Roberta Vasilow. As the BCA Club WebMaster she has found some very good links and made them available to all who peruse the page. Recently while checking out the links I happened upon the parts finder engine she dug up. On a whim I entered information for a door for my wagon and this week the door was delivered from Texas. It then occurred to me that the BCA site, and all the work Roberta does to maintain it, are probably vastly underappreciated.

So here's one vote to award Roberta the famed Buick-man ( er. That doesn't seem just exactly right but hey, it's all we got at this point) award...

Lamar -- the certificates and shirts are fantastic! I'm packing the wife/kids in the car for the 2012 BCA meet just to witness the breakfast award ceremony.

I agree with everyone else, the good will and sense of community that you inspire is invaluable to the Buick community.

Yes. Finally tasted some for the first time at last years breakfast. It is disgusting.....er, an acquired taste.

It is a must do event at the Nationals.

And yes, I would like to second Roberta for her work here on the forum. I realize there are other reasons she should receive a Buickman Award, but since it is a web-based award it should have something to do with this forum. You can't get the award if you don't know what it is dangit!

It's that time again. With the Buick Nationals fast approaching, we need to hear your nominations for this years Buickman Award. This award honors those that go above and beyond their normal Buick duties by unselfishly providing benefit to the BCA wholly or to other members by providing material, technical or moral support. The award will be presented at the Forumer's breakfast Friday morning at the host hotel.

In looking over this last years posts, it appears we have three nominations so far. And they are.....

Roberta Vasilow

If you would like to nominate some one new, renominate someone already nominated in the past or make further comment on the three already nominated, please try and do so by May 20th. Doing it in the Atrium where everyone has breakfast. We need to get a little PR for the forum and let everyone see what a good time we have and how we are all friend because of the forum. The way everyone carries on and has such a great time will surely attract a crowd and will help to let people know what the forum is. The hotel will reserve some tables and any forum member who is not a hotel guest can of course sit with the group and participate and if they want to eat breakfast their too, a voucher for breakfast can be purchased at the front desk for $15ea.

breakfast. Doing it in the Atrium where everyone has breakfast. We need to get a little PR for the forum and let everyone see what a good time we have and how we are all friend because of the forum. The way everyone carries on and has such a great time will surely attract a crowd and will help to let people know what the forum is. The hotel will reserve some tables and any forum member who is not a hotel guest can of course sit with the group and participate and if they want to eat breakfast their too, a voucher for breakfast can be purchased at the front desk for $15ea.

Breakfast at the hotel is full hot buffet breakfast with cook to order omelets. Mr Earl is in charge of the SPAM.

Does Spam have a french name? "Le SPAM" perhaps. Anyway make it sound more exotic and the chefs at the hotel will surely WANT to use it.

As I am getting old, I do not recall now where, but we first met when he first made the proposal for a National Meet in Charlotte, and was defeated. So it was several years persistance to get this accomplished, and now the day is here. As to the "all around" aspect, he has always been willing to communicate with new members and resolving questions about the BCA and the 2012 Meet, as evidenced by his many forum postings.

Although the earlier 3 nominees were certainly deserving I would like to put in my 2 cents worth for Brian.Not only has he done a GREAT job with everything related to this year's national,posting on this forum,etc he has implemented some new things such as the new section on the forum for Chapter Directors.He personally sent me congrats when I became a Chapter Director as well as valuable information as how to proceed as a Director.I've also seen some of his "TV TIME" and he represented the BCA in a most commendable fashion.In addition how about a BUICK WOMAN award???That sends Roberta to the head of the line of those nominations. Half the shenanigans on this forum would not have occurred without this fabled gent's direct input. The prestigious BUICK MAN Awards for 2012 were presented at the BCAFer's Breakfast on Friday,June 29th in Concord, North Carilina. Approximately 35 forum members were present to witness the presentation of the award by MrEarl. This year's Buickman was chosen by the previous years winners of the award. Runner ups were:

John Sheib, Bian DePouli and Roberta Vasilow.

The BUICKMAN Award for 2012 is Pete Phillips!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

please give a salute to these fine Buick ladies and gentlemen.

Unfortunately Pete was so busy with picture takin and other event good deeds he wasn't able to make the breakfast, but I caught up to him later in the Hospitality room and presented it to him. Luckily Brian D was able to stop in for a few brief minutes at the breakfast for just long enough to receive his recognition and "special" Italian style shirt. Another shirt had to be special made this year and hopefully someone will post up some pictures of just what I'm talkin about.

CONGRATULATIONS to all and please remember, to be nominated is to win!!!!!
