Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 I took the time this weekend to hand wash and wax. It's wearing the new Turtlewax Ice. As advertised, it can be applied in the sun/heat and doesn't leave white stuff in the trim, panel edges, etc. I should have applied another coat, but it looks pretty good.Yesterday, I borrowed the stock 17'' 1999 Mustang GT wheels from my older brother. They've been in his garage for years. Fords have a 5x114.3 mm bolt pattern and GM cars a 5x115, but I didn't see a difference when putting them on. They fit just fine. Being RWD, I think they're sticking out a tiny bit, but they look sharp to me. Lemme know what you guys think.Pix will be attached. My web server is being goofy.
Guest Greg Ross Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Looks like about the same offset I have with my 16" AR Wheels. On the Door misalignment. Looks like you need to adjust the door latch pin on your passenger side door frame.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Yeah I noticed that. It looks like it's almost ajar
Shelby Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 As proud as you seem to be of your Reatta how can you drive around with a trailer hitch and a $4 radio attena?
jonlabree Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 And still no Caps. What is it with you? You must hate the finnished look.
Guest Greg Ross Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 Geeez, this is turning into "SLAM PHILIP" Day, Tee HeeShe's go, not show Folks!
Roadster90 Posted June 11, 2006 Posted June 11, 2006 F 14, your ride looks just fine, BUT it is missing one essential accessory that you have seemed to have forgotten to include.....I forgot her name but not her image <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />.And let me know 1st when you want to get rid o the trailer hitch.....
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Yes, but you made one crucial mistake...It's the Estaver hitch! Not just any ordinary hitch. Reattas are perfectly capable of towing small loads. I've heard dudes pulling horse trailers with Bonnevilles. My power antenna broke, and they're kinda pointless to me at least.Would you rather I be wearing Mustang Pony caps? <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />. If I end up keeping them I'll try to find Reatta hubcap emblems and apply them

Like being on a rail, seriously, it was a pleasant effect.
Guest Durahansolo Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 <div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Quote:</div><div class="ubbcode-body">As proud as you seem to be of your Reatta how can you drive around with a trailer hitch and a $4 radio attena? </div></div>LOL! I thought about getting one of those rubber antennas as well, because my original antenna got whacked by the carwash like 2 years ago. I replaced it this year with a Metra Power Antenna 49.99. And really its just for decoration because i use my mp3 player all the time and hardly use my radio.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Power antennas are still kinda pointless.Reception isn't great from the rubber whip I have, but those Metra ones look really tall. Reception must be great
jonlabree Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Why do you say they are pointless? When you shut the radio off they go down, stoppingyour average vandal from breaking them off, and getting them out of the way in the car wash. What is "pointless" about that?
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 My bad. I guess I don't park in places where someone would break my antenna. Haven't had issues with car washes, though I mostly do it myself. It does make the car look better when parked though.
Guest tomt Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Years ago, I had an 88 Olds with a manual antenna. I dropped off a screen door for repair in the 88. I picked up my new 89 a week later, and picked up the screen door, putting it in the trunk overhanging the right fender. I turned the radio on, and because the new car had an electric antenna, I immediately had to take the screen door back in to be repaired again, without ever leaving the parking lot. Never had much use for power antennas after that. The hardware store owner had so much fun laughing at me that he never charged me.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 12, 2006 Posted June 12, 2006 Was there like a dial or something to turn to raise and lower the antenna? If I'm gonna keep these wheels I'll do the brake upgrade
Guest tomt Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 Nope, it just came up like ours when you turned the radio on. No accounting for stupidness, but I do admit my favorite tavern was next door. Still is
2seater Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I was going to say the same thing about my wheel offset, the same as Gregs. Personaly, I like the wheels, and being OEM they will be good quality.
Guest F14CRAZY Posted June 13, 2006 Posted June 13, 2006 I'm thinking I'll go ahead and buy them from him if he'll let me
manikmekanik Posted June 14, 2006 Posted June 14, 2006 ...AND get a set of the Reatta wheel centers from "germancar" guy on eBay!! At only $50, they'll make those wheels LOOK like they're OEM/Reatta!!Nice wheels, Phil! Looks like your project has come together, now for a few minor detail issues, they're always the most expensive, since they don't enhance performance.Definately, do the brake upgrade, I think you may need it, what, with all that new-found horsepower!!
Guest spyhunter2k Posted June 16, 2006 Posted June 16, 2006 Those look awesome! I think I'll go with those on my car.Seth
