need king pins

The king pins on my 24-35 are loose which severly restricts my speed. Can someone recommend a source for new pins and bushings. Also I've never done king pins and would appreciate any advice? Also, in a previous thread I saw the add for stainless pins and roller bearings. Is this worth doing ( or even available) for this car?

I bought king pins for my 29 & 31 Buicks on Ebay last year. I have seen them posted for my cars several times. I couldn't say if they are available for 1924 cars, but I do have a buddy with an extra chassis for a 1923. Do you have dimensions or know if they interchange with other years?

I purchases several items from Bob's and they weren't of the best quality. You might try N.B.Pease and Co. Palmer,MA 1-413-283-7620. Very nice gentleman to deal with. Might me hard to get him on phone as he runs the business all alone. Good Luck

I got a king pin set from Bob's. BIG MISTAKE.The thrust bearings which were included were not used on 24's. A refund of $12 for both bearings wasn't worth the price os shipping. Bushings were different outer dimentions ( as much as .0010 )and had to be turned. No king pin lock bolts are included. When I told my machineist this cost me $200. he had a good laugh. Apparently king pin and bushings are stock items in machine shops. My advice to anyone doing this job in the future is to check with the machine shop first, you'll probably have to go there anyway to have the bushings pressed or for the reaming.
