Guest Posted May 4, 2001 Share Posted May 4, 2001 I am looking at a 88 white car.114k body is a 9,interior is a 7.5[mostly dirty]car seems to drive ok,but at idle there is a flucuation and the car wants to stall,iac?or mabey tps?prob just needs good tune?$2500,seems like a good price but what is the failure rate for that touch screen,seems if it fails you will have a big prob.any advice appriciated. Guest Posted May 4, 2001 Share Posted May 4, 2001 The stalling and idle surging may just be from the battery being drianed or disconected. This would not be uncommon for a used car from having something fixed or something got left on. If the car was not driven much after no power to the computer it will do this because it must relearn setting.
