I found a 36 lincoln with a v12 flat head, and was wondering what it is worth.

the engine is complete, and the body is intack.

no interior.

Lots of variables there. Zephyr or KB? 2 door or 4 door? rust and corrosion? any pics? I have a 36 Zephyr, it's a fine car. The 36 is sort of an orphan, and fairly rare. They have a minimum of Lincoln type embelishments and trim. Much of the 36 is "grab a Ford part quick! We have to go into production" Check on the LZOC Forum. Even when a 36 is a solid #2 car, the value is not sky high. If it's a KB with a custom body, there are way too many factors to even guess.

1936 - 1948 Lincoln Zephyr V12

the v12 makes it a Zephyr, not sure what model beyond a large sedan. it has no body plate on it.

still, I would think a v12 engine is rare to find.

No, no, no. The V12 does NOT make it a Zephyr. All Lincolns had a V12 engines in 1936. Both the K models and the Zephyrs. They did not share the same engine, though. The K had a large 414cid/150hp powerplant with 3 1/8th-inch diam. cylinders, and the Zephyr had a relatively small and much less powerful 267cid/110hp powerplant with 2 3/4th-inch diam cylinders. The photo you posted is a Zephyr, and an extremely nice one at that. It only came in two body styles in 1936: a two-door sedan and a four-door sedan.

OK Tommy, does the engine look like a Ford V-8 with four more cylinders? (green block/heads, rough cast finish on heads, somewhat rounded on the heads) or is it shiny (or WAS it shiny) smooth, kind of square-ish on the heads? the latter is a K-series engine, and by far the more perferable of the two. Some folks like the Zephyr engines, I do not. Big waste of metal. The K is a whole different story, those are wonderful. Still, there is value in the Zephyr. I have seen very nice (functional--not a heavy project car) older resorations at Hershey for $23-27K
