Guest Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 I found a 36 lincoln with a v12 flat head, and was wondering what it is worth.the engine is complete, and the body is intack.no interior.
Mike Cullen Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 Lots of variables there. Zephyr or KB? 2 door or 4 door? rust and corrosion? any pics? I have a 36 Zephyr, it's a fine car. The 36 is sort of an orphan, and fairly rare. They have a minimum of Lincoln type embelishments and trim. Much of the 36 is "grab a Ford part quick! We have to go into production" Check on the LZOC Forum. Even when a 36 is a solid #2 car, the value is not sky high. If it's a KB with a custom body, there are way too many factors to even guess.
Guest Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 looks like a four door sedan with a slope jet back.it has a v12 and suside doors on the rear. engine is dry and in good shape.my thinks is a victora... but i don´t know fords that well.the grill dose not have the same pattern as the photos of the 36. 37 38 or 39...post youur email and I will send you photos.thanks....coa1958@aol.com

The V12 does NOT make it a Zephyr. All Lincolns had a V12 engines in 1936. Both the K models and the Zephyrs. They did not share the same engine, though. The K had a large 414cid/150hp powerplant with 3 1/8th-inch diam. cylinders, and the Zephyr had a relatively small and much less powerful 267cid/110hp powerplant with 2 3/4th-inch diam cylinders. The photo you posted is a Zephyr, and an extremely nice one at that. It only came in two body styles in 1936: a two-door sedan and a four-door sedan.
mrpushbutton Posted June 1, 2006 Posted June 1, 2006 OK Tommy, does the engine look like a Ford V-8 with four more cylinders? (green block/heads, rough cast finish on heads, somewhat rounded on the heads) or is it shiny (or WAS it shiny) smooth, kind of square-ish on the heads? the latter is a K-series engine, and by far the more perferable of the two. Some folks like the Zephyr engines, I do not. Big waste of metal. The K is a whole different story, those are wonderful. Still, there is value in the Zephyr. I have seen very nice (functional--not a heavy project car) older resorations at Hershey for $23-27K
