Headlights curiosity

I just bought a 89 and I love the car, but I was wondering if someone could tell me why Buick didnt put an auto headlight feature on its car that was their flagship model for that year?

Yeah, had to wait until '90 for the Twilight Sentinel to show a dash light with "Headlights Suggested" <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/tongue.gif" alt="" />. Kinda dumb if you ask me. '91 had real automatic headlights

On my ?91 I keep the automatic headlight turned OFF? I guarantee you will break the headlight door ?stops? if you are on the highway and your headlights turn on <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/mad.gif" alt="" />. Automatic is a nice thing on mounted lights? NOT on lights that flip up and catch the wind. KennyV.

Actually, have opened/closed my headlights at 70 mph and nothing bad has happened yet. Probably will though, with my luck. Don't blame you though. Probably not good for the bulbs either

Give it a couple 70 MPH shots? it should bust the plastic nut that the adjuster bolt screws into <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/ooo.gif" alt="" />? I don?t let mine open unless I?m under 30MPH . Your right about the lamps also, they get slammed hard enough just opening at normal rate? KennyV.
