flamered Posted May 27, 2006 Posted May 27, 2006 Re my '65 Skylark convertible: I have conflicting information as to whether a '66 Skylark AM/FM radio will fit the dash of my '65--can anyone advise? I was hoping to simply switch the '65's AM for a monaural AM/FM. (I'm told the '67 is a different dash, but am unclear about the '66.) Thanks. P.S. Anyone have one for sale--a '66 AM/FM, providing it fits a '65?
JohnD1956 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 I believe the 66 and 67 Dash are both the same. The 65 is closer to the 64.However the front and dials may be interchangeable. So if you can pick up the 66 radio inexpensively I'd do so. JD
1special66 Posted May 28, 2006 Posted May 28, 2006 Hello, we are looking for a am/fm cd player for our 66 Special. Any leads ?
JohnD1956 Posted May 29, 2006 Posted May 29, 2006 Obviously you'll have to go aftermarket for this combination. I would leave the factory radio in the dash and then look for a custom way to mount the aftermarket radio. As you know the big problem with the 66-7 Buick "A" body dash is the angle the radio sits at. It requires a large offset to make the faceplate appear to be verticle so you can read the numbers on the dial. JD
