Rajunz Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Car was restored 7 years ago but has been sitting for years. Paint buffed out beautifully, top looks new, interior is tear free, but had lots of mold from sitting. I bought it around Christmas time to fix it up, but have had zero time to put into it. I don't want the car to just sit any more and go to waste.I did rebuild the carb and put new plugs and it fired right up. It idles good but won't rev up very well and the exhaust stinks bad because of the gas. Dyer's Automotive in Austin, Texas has maintained the car over the years and has all of the records. It has an original 401 Nailhead. All new belts, hoses, battery, cables, etc. It also has A/C. Tires also look new. The car has a ton of potential, it has just been sitting for a while, so it needed a lot of clean up. It's kind of a shame because the guy probably let it sit about a year too long. The only places that I've found rust are under the windshield chrome and the trunk jamb. The trunk floor is rust free and so is the frame. The interior is black and also is only about 5 years old, no tears or rips anywhere, just covered in mildew. I bought new trunk weather stripping, but haven't installed it yet. The brakes suck, no power, all 4 drums. Overall I would rate the car as a real nice driver, it's all original and all parts are there. This would be an easy restoration and the car is worth 4X my price restored because it is a rare numbers matching Big Block car. Pictures here for you to see what it's all about. I am being as honest as possible with this description.Price is firm, $5,500, which I think is very fair for this car. I would rate this car a 3 from 1-5. The car is in Austin, Texas. Please e-mail me at lancep@rtg-texas.com for more pictures and to answer any questions. Thanks for looking,Lance PeltierAustin, Texas
