I thought it might be of interest to mention that I bought an 8 cyl engine in Perth, Western Australia, in 1952 for 5 pounds (10 dollars) and sold it later for double that. It appeared to be the same as a photo of a Stutz Blackhawk engine I saw in a Dyke's Automobile Encyclopedia. It was o/head camshaft with updraught carby and sixteen plugs and was complete including starter, generator, clutch and gearbox and handbrake. I got it to run okay, it was running very sweetly, just sitting on its huge aluminium sump. The guy who bought it from me said he was going to use it to drive a sawmill in Corrigin, Western Australia.

Needless to say I guess, but I think I sold it a bit cheaply.
