KRK Sr. Posted May 14, 2006 Posted May 14, 2006 Brian, I see by your post that you have a 28 Phillips bodied Stutz. I have a 26 Wills Ste Claire Cabriolet with Phillips Body. One of 3 left., There is only one Pierce Arrow,1927 series. 80 Cab. roadster with a Phillips body left. Do you have ay idea how many Stutz are still around with Phillips bodies? I understand there are some others who used this Company for the Cabriolet's in there line. Can you post a photo of your car? Thanks, Karl

28StutzCabriolet Posted May 19, 2006 Posted May 19, 2006 Hello Karl,There are either three or four 28' Stutz BB cabriolets with Phillips bodies left. Mine was originally emerald green with silver moldings and bright green stripes. The leather upholster is green, both in front and in the rumble seat. The top was tope Hartz fabric and the fenders were black. I plan to repaint it the exact colors. The car originally came from Philadelphia and has 42k original miles, but is in poor, but now complete condition. There is a maroon one that came from Oregon that now lives in the mid-west. It was a good original except for the repaint and chrome wheels. There was a rough one in England, but it has been disassembled and made into a non-authentic looking replica speedster. I think a search on the internet for STUTZ BB will produce photos of it. Seems to me I have seen another, but I do not recall where. There are three Phillips convertible sedans as well. One, sold new in Germany and there until recently, has sold. There is one in the mid-west that is well known. Another is being reassembled and parted together in the Washington state area. I have just completed the wood on my car - it lived under a leaky roof and the right side of the car was rotted. As soon as I get the engine put back together on my 28 Lincoln Judkins sedan, it is full steam ahead on the Stutz. Unfortunately, I do not have any photos in digital form of it. As a small compensation, here is a photo of my Lincoln.Best regards,Brian in Santa Cruz, CA
