67special Posted May 4, 2006 Posted May 4, 2006 Just got it yesterday. It was my great Grandads car. 65k org. miles. I don't even know where to begin. Guess I'll figure it out.
West Peterson Posted May 5, 2006 Posted May 5, 2006 I had problems posting pictures a few weeks ago. While I was able to open it up in the Forum, no one else could. It turned out that it was because I had changed the photo settings to cmyk from rgb. Check your image to make sure its rgb (red green blue).
Snappydwp1 Posted May 6, 2006 Posted May 6, 2006 That is really great. So neat to have those cars stay in the family like that and be appreciated by the younger set.
67special Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Okay I think I got this figured out. Please try to look again. Thanks for all your help and comments.

67special Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Signals work, back up lights to! Dash light are good but no dome light, have not looked for bulb yet. I am so excited about this car. Thanks again to all for your comments.

67special Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Just found out that it is a Special Deluxe from someone on thr Buick boards. Just keeps getting better all the time!
R Walling Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 A friend of mine had a "65" in as nice of condition and it was hit by a third party. Their insurance company totaled it and tried to pay him $720.00. They said that that was the book value and not another dime! Fortunately, he had it insured for $5000. (in 1990) and they paid up, crying all the way. Moral, get it appraised and insured for the full value to protect your self from some SOB insurance company.
67special Posted May 8, 2006 Author Posted May 8, 2006 Great advise, thanks. I just talked to my insurance guy and he told me to get an estimated value from someone on a Buick board somewhere. Can you guys give me your best guess at the value?
West Peterson Posted May 8, 2006 Posted May 8, 2006 I think I speak for most everyone here in saying that you should connect with a specialty collector car insurance company, and NOT your regular insurer. There are several, but the most common are:J.C. TaylorHagertyCondon & SkellyGrundyOf course, if you plan on using the car every day... nevermind. You'll have to use your regular insurer.
