nyyanksdj Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Hello, Any info would be appreciated on this 90 Reatta. When driving over bumpy roads there is a loud bang coming from the rear passenger side of the car. Sounds like the shock/strut bottoming out. If I push up and down on the back of the car it seems the shock/strut are working fine. The car goes up and down nice and smooth. I was told by a friend it could be the strut or the "knuckle". He doesn't own a Reatta, so I figure to ask the experts. Thanks for any info.Marc
Guest F14CRAZY Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 Is it a "heavy" bang? If it's more like a rattle, I'd suggest that it be the infamous rear brake rattle. The strut shouldn't bang though, unless the mounting bolts are loose
Guest EDBSO Posted April 30, 2006 Posted April 30, 2006 It is really easy to put the Reatta on jack stands and with the wheel off inspect everything. Could be that a rubber isolator has just worn out at the top of the strut.
